The Porsche 904 Carrera GTS is a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive GT sports car produced from 1964 to 1965. Officially named the Carrera GTS due to a naming rights dispute with Peugeot, the car was built for racing but was also street-legal. Its advanced design by Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche featured a fiberglass-reinforced plastic body bonded to a steel chassis, a first for Porsche.
